If I wouldn’t eat it, I don't want it on my skin. This makes sense. Our skin is our largest organ and 60% of what we put on it is absorbed—so if you don’t want it in your body, then don’t put it on your skin. Now, it’s not like I’d dish up a bowl of moisturizer for breakfast or anything, but at least I wouldn’t be poisoned if I decided to do so.
Realizing that my moisturizer was toxic, and being forced to make my own was the biggest blessing in disguise. Since using this moisturizer, my skin feels SO soft, has less break-outs, and the eczema around my nose and on my eyelids, that I’ve had for years, has disappeared! I honestly can’t believe it, and have coconut oil and shea butter to thank for this. It is suggested, that coconut oil can cure eczema due to its antibacterial and antioxidant properties, which also soothes itching and inflammation. A simple google search will yield tons of results on this topic. Coconut oil has cured what hydrocortisone cream was unable to!This moisturizer works great on either dry or oily skin. I have dry skin, and I used to have to apply moisturizer a couple times per day in the winter. Now I find that if I apply it once in the morning, after a shower, I’m good for the rest of the day. My mom was able to confirm that this is equally ideal for oily skin, and we’ve both agreed that this moisturizer yields great results for all skin types.

- Melt the coconut oil, shea butter and bees wax. To do this, create a doubler boiler affect: put a small glass jar in a pan full of simmering water, and add the two ingredients to the jar.
- Remove the jar from the heat as soon as both have melted (the shea butter will be last to melt) and stir in the vitamin E and essential oil.
- Pour into and a small container and let sit over night.
This moisturizer will change consistency as the temperature around it changes, but will always have the same affect once applied to your skin.
